Bearly in LancasterJohn Bear Runs Campaign From Lebanon County May 14, 2006 Hypocrisy is one of the surest ways to land yourself on this ‘zine and Bear has apparently remade himself in the form of what he thought 97th voters would support. Here’s what Bear has done in the last 6 months or so to make himself look like the perfect candidate for the 97th: John Bear, who was introduced by Lancaster County Action President Bob Kettering at one of their breakfasts earlier this year, joined St Peter’s Lutheran church located on the corner of Route 501 and Delp Road about six months ago. The church is very main-line and VERY non-Action – perfect for looking like a moderate for the moderate leaning 97th district. Bear also joined the Rotary club in Lititz about 6 months ago or so. Here’s what John has on “John is also a member of the Rotary Club, a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provide humanitarian service.” John might be a member but he’s only attended a small fraction of the weekly meetings! Apparently enough that he can brag about being apart of the “worldwide organization” and that they provide “humanitarian service”! A good indication that someone is trying to hide something is the responses when 5thEstate.com investigates. When 5thEstate.com editor Ron Harper Jr., parked on the berm of the public road to snap a picture of 300 Front street, a John Bear supporter came out into the lane of traffic and actually pushed Harper’s $1,000+ camera! Rather outrageous behavior against someone that did nothing but pull into a parking spot on a public street. The supporter turned and ran when Harper began taking pictures of the unidentified assailant pictured here with his John Bear sign. Harper also snapped a picture of papa Bear sitting out on the porch of 248 Front Street. Is that woman momma Bear? We don’t know. Has little Bear ever lived at 300 Front Street? Public Records in the Lancaster County Register of Wills office show that Bear got married and moved next door into momma and papa Bear’s house in September 2001. Four years later, the parents put ONLY their son (and not their daughter-in-law) and then only at 1/3 share of the house – just enough to look like he’s a real property owner! And how about looking successful? Public records filed with the Lancaster County Recorder of Deeds office indicate that Bear, along with his parents signed for over ¼ of a million construction loan for fixing up the 300 Front Street home. The agreement, signed in September 2005, indicated that all those that signed it - Bear and his parents – would occupying the home after completion! So is little Johnny paying this loan? Will Pappa and Momma Bear live happily ever after with Lil' Bear? Anyway it goes, the “new and improve” Johnny Bear will face voters on May 16th. Will they elect the Mt Gretna resident to be their next state representative? The 97th Goldielock Voters will have to decide if John Bear is just right or not! Additional Sources: |
