Rather than disagree with ANYTHING Barley did with his public life, Cutler says that Barley is an example of great service!
The following is my press release to address my thoughts and concerns about his running for elected office.

Ron Harper, Jr. Founder and Chairman of political action committee that was instrumental in getting rid of fomer state rep. John Barley on Bryan Cutler's announcement that he is running for the 100th.
After reflecting on Bryan Cutler's comments and his absolute refusal to criticize John Barley, I decided to write down why I am angered at his hypocrisy and duplicity.
During this same time period 4 years ago, I was about to embark on starting my political action committee which produced the video “The Politics of John Barley”. The salient points of Barley's many PUBLIC sin (and the outline of the video) can be found at JohnBarley.com. They are as follows:

Got 27 times his State Rep. Salary in government hand-outs and sweet-heart deals.
Used his position and influence to sell his neighborhood out for a trash dump
When caught, he redistricted Manor out of the 100th
He was behind an illegal and immoral phone campaign in the 37th district (my district!)
He used his position and power to get deals himself, his family and friends
He used his power and influence to get sweet-heart deals hauling sludge and spreading human waste any where they owned property.
He bought his “friend's” farm and sold it out from under the widow for over $500,000 profit
He set up the illegal voter registration deal which resulted in someone else taking the fall!
He farms over the tops of a couple dozen people!
Bryan admitted that he doesn't differ from Rep. Gib Armstrong in terms of political positions. Why then should voters of the 100th choose him over Armstrong? According to Bryan, it's integrity over the pay raise issue. (which Armstrong voted against!)
The other criticism is that, according to Bryan, Armstrong doesn't get along with certain elected officials. And yet what is the genesis of the conflict in the district?
3 ½ years ago, thirty republican committee members, with full knowledge of the above “sins of Barley”, decided to nominate and work to get John Barley elected. Subsequently, they became known as the “gang of thirty” for ignoring the grave public sins and defying the voters by publicly endorsing this immoral man. They only backed away from him when it became known that he was having an affair!
Did this “gang of thirty” apologize to the community for trying to foist this flawed candidate onto them? Did this “gang of thirty” apologize to those of use whom they attacked for daring to stand up and point out Barley's moral excesses?
No. Instead they stabbed and attacked anyone and everyone who dared to go against them. Instead of realizing they were duped and owning up to it, they sowed hatred and discord against the people that disagreed with them.

Answer? Bryan Cutler is AWOL. Until I hear and see leadership on these issues, I will view him as merely a patsy of the “gang of thirty”.
